New Patient Experience

As a new patient, your first visit may be different from what you have experienced at your previous dentist. The first time you visit our office we will go over your medical and dental history, gather information regarding your dental concerns and your perception of needed dental treatment, provide an initial cleaning, and update any radiographs. The next part of the initial consultation is an hour-long baseline examination, providing tooth examination, full periodontal examination, TMJ/range of motion/bite analysis examination, radiographic examination, oral cancer screening, esthetic and smile analysis, and a full mouth photographs. Sometimes this exam can take multiple visits while for more complicated cases we will need to take a full set of dental models and additional records.

With all of this recorded data, we will take a tour of your mouth and address any problems or concerns. I like to describe this as a patient-centered comprehensive treatment plan. We fully engage our patients to customize treatment plans in a pressure-free environment to focus on their concerns.

This initial examination can be coordinated in a single visit or over multiple visits to suit your schedule.

We also offer a problem-focused first visit. This can be treated as a consultant to examine a specific concern or to treat an emergency issue you may be having.
